Spermacide

Spermacide is any chemical that kills sperm. Spermacide is only effective against pregnancy. Spermacide does not significantly reduce the risk of STI or HIV transmission. Spermacide applied to condoms reduces the risk of pregnancy if the condom break during intercourse.

Nonoxynol-9 is a type of spermacide. Most spermacidally treated condoms are treated with Nonoynol-9. It is not harmful and is safely absorbed by the body after sex. It does not cause cancer or any other disease. We recommend using a spermacidal condom because they are safer than non-spermacidal condoms if the condom breaks. It is possible to be allergic to Nonoxynol-9 and there are other types of spermacides, such as Octoxynol-9 and Nonoxynol-15. SSIS does not sell any products treated with any type of spermicide other than Nonoxynol-9.
