Constitution:
The Brandeis University Student Sexuality Information Service is a student-run, volunteer based organization, and our mission is to encourage all forms of safer sex within the Brandeis Community by providing accurate sexual information and support services, including but not limited to counseling, selling safer sex products, providing educational programs, and accurate referrals to outside sexual health resources. Furthermore, our mission is to offer these services, wholly confidentially*, to the public regardless of race, gender, politics, religion, or sexual preference.
The Student Sexuality Information Service accomplishes our mission by adequately training all of its members to be effective counselors and educators**. We are dedicated to continued education in the field of safer sex, as frequently updating our wealth of information helps us in our mission to counsel and to provide accurate referrals to outside sexual health resources. Holding office hours to provide confidential counseling and to sell affordable and diverse safer sex products is one means by which SSIS works to offer/extend ourselves to our community in as many ways as are possible and feasible, as to build a bridge to our community.
SSIS seeks, first and foremost, to serve the entirety of the Brandeis community. We also realize that our information may extend beyond the Brandeis community, and we therefore strive to assist any member of the general public who seeks out our services.
*SSIS interprets confidentiality as the appropriate treatment of sensitive information. No person may be a part of this group without first reading and signing an extensive confidentiality agreement.
**All members of SSIS are required to undergo training with the group at the beginning of each academic year.
